Ted Beare

Ted Beare Ted Beare joined The Brantford Expositor newsroom in 1950 and was appointed Sports Editor in 1953. During his 43 years with The Expositor, while reporting and writing a daily column, Ted was witness to almost every major sports event in Brantford and the surrounding area. He won four Western Ontario Newspaper Association awards and was a runner-up on two other occasions. Ted wrote two books, Brantford: Sports City and My Mother the Bookie. He retired in 1992 and continued to write freelance for newspapers and magazines until his death in 2011.
